Installing the MTM5200 in a service vehicle: mounting, antenna and testing
Installation of the MTM5200 starts with the machine and its workplace. Even a kit with antenna, cable and mounting requires checking the power supply, the surface for the antenna and the route of the wires. We will analyze the sequence of preparation and reception, so that the station is convenient for the crew and works in a coordinated network.

First determine the accommodation option
The MTM5000 range has different installation and control designs. For the proposed device specify the type of unit, fasteners and necessary accessories. The mention of DIN automotive standards in the documentation does not prove that a particular station with wires will fit into any niche of the tape recorder.
Before installation, measure the available space, depth with connectors attached, and maintenance access. Check the vehicle mounting, ventilation and control-panel position. Place the hand microphone where it can be picked up and returned without interfering with driving; the selected console must not obstruct the vehicle’s controls.
power supply and gasket
The MTM5200’s passenger range is 10.8–15.6 V DC. Even in a machine with a 12V rated network, the actual conditions at the station entrance are checked. 24V requires a separate power supply solution. The cable from the kit connects the devices, but does not convert the voltage.
The connection is performed according to the manual of the specific configuration and the requirements of the car. The installer agrees on chain protection, cross-section, connection points, and switching control; arbitrary fuse denominations are not suitable here. An accessible route is needed without tension and damage to the insulation, with fixation of wiring outside moving parts.
| Installation site | What's being checked on the car |
|---|---|
| Power supply | Voltage in the permissible range, circuit protection, on- and on-transmission behavior |
| Mount | Suitable staples, free space and access to connectors |
| Antenna and feeder | Operating range, connector compatibility, installation surface and cable integrity |
| Audio | Ease of hand-microphone use, speaker audibility and no obstruction to the driver |
Antenna is part of a specific installation
Our quotation specifies a magnetically based car antenna. Before installation, its configuration and compliance with operating frequencies are specified. Magnetic mounting is not universal for any roof material or all driving conditions. The appropriate surface and location are determined for the antenna and vehicle.
The feeder is laid taking into account the permissible curves, connectors and passages in the body. Pressing the cable with the door and the stretched section worsen the reliability of the installation. The 6 m in our description refers to a power supply cable; from this length, the length of the antenna feeder or the possibility of any gasket scheme cannot be inferred.
How to place a microphone and speaker
External speaker 13 W in the description of the kit is audio accessory, not a measure of transmitter power. Check its actual connection and audibility from the workplace at the usual noise of the cabin. The microphone should not pull the station by the connector or interfere with the passenger.
After fixing the cables, it is convenient to check the usual scenario: the driver sees the selected group, receives a call and responds without looking for accessories. This short test detects placement errors before the checkout. It is useful to leave the installer a description of the accepted scheme and a list of used components.
On-site and on-route reception
First, check the registration, group call and conversation in both directions. Then they experience the necessary individual calls and messages. If the customer uses the coordinates, confirm their reception by the dispatching application when the functions are turned on; the presence of GPS in the description does not replace this result.
The check-out includes the work areas of the route, not only the installation site. Note the failures and quality of the conversation with the installed antenna. Direct DMO mode is checked separately, if provided. The procedure for checking the emergency call is previously agreed with the operator and dispatcher.
For selection, inform the type of car, network voltage, location and frequencies used. The MTM5200 card below allows you to agree on the delivery composition and installation task; the handheld MTP6550 complements the crew when working outside the vehicle.
Obtaining equipment
Specify the city of receipt: Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Volgograd, Shymkent or another point of Russia and Kazakhstan. Delivery composition, available quantity, cost and terms are agreed for your order.
Questions before ordering
Does the station have to stand in the place of the tape?
This is checked by the size of a particular block, fastener, depth with connectors and vehicle requirements. Mentioning DIN is not enough.
Power Supply Cable 6m Allows Connection to 24V?
Nope. The length of the cable does not change the voltage. The MTM5200 is designed for 10.8–15.6 V DC; power supply for 24 V is agreed separately.
The coordinates of the car will appear at the dispatcher after installation?
If the corresponding function is available, configured and supported by the system. Reception coordinates are checked separately with voice communication.
